This shade structure was custom-made and sent as a gift to the New York Fire Department two days after the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, to help provide shade cover for the rescue workers during their rescue efforts. The stars on the shade canopy top were hand sewn overnight, and TricoShade's president's brother drove from San Antonio, Texas to New York with the shade canopy in tow to personally deliver it to the Fire Department.
